How much long service leave do you get in Western Australia?

8.6667 weeks of paid leave after 10 years of continuous service under the Long Service Leave Act 1958 (WA), accruing at 0.8667 weeks per year. 8.667 weeks after 10 years, then 4.333 weeks for every further 5 years. From 7 years, pro-rata is payable when employment ends for any reason except dismissal for serious misconduct, and that includes an ordinary resignation. On a misconduct dismissal, completed 10-and-5-year blocks are still paid; only the uncompleted portion is lost.

How it's calculated

In Western Australia, long service leave runs under the Long Service Leave Act 1958 (WA), administered by WA Private Sector Labour Relations (DLGIRS). 8.667 weeks after 10 years, then 4.333 weeks for every further 5 years. From 7 years, pro-rata is payable when employment ends for any reason except dismissal for serious misconduct, and that includes an ordinary resignation. On a misconduct dismissal, completed 10-and-5-year blocks are still paid; only the uncompleted portion is lost.
