For HR leaders

Go beyond the process.
Defend people decisions.

Compono is a workforce intelligence platform for HR leaders and heads of people in organisations of 60 to 1,000. It handles the process risk your current systems handle, and the people insight risk they ignore: who fits, how a team really works, whether the capability is real. If payroll is the only gap, buy an HRIS.

The evidence behind a people decision

One overloaded team member found across 8 types of work

Work Personality run across the team to read how people work together

80 staff, 14 people leaders, on Compono since 2017

How it shows up for HR leaders

A leader talking a small group through a plan at a whiteboard

The board asks a people question and gets an anecdote

Someone at the table asks why the senior hires are not sticking, or what the engagement number means for next year. The honest answer is a story about one person, because nothing in the stack connects hiring, culture, capability and competence to the same people.

66% of C-suite leaders say their traditional functions have to change, and 7% say they are making progress on it.

Engagement scores arrive with no diagnosis

The survey closes and the scores come back amber, with a recommendation to communicate more. The report cannot point at which team or which manager to change, so the action plan is a guess and next year's score reads the same.

Global engagement sat at 20% in 2025, and low engagement costs the world economy about $10 trillion in lost productivity, or 9% of GDP.

Capability lives in a spreadsheet until the audit finds it

Someone built a skills matrix in a spreadsheet, then people changed roles and it aged quietly. When an insurer or a regulator asks who is qualified to do a given task, the answer takes a fortnight of emails to assemble.

Australian employers spent about $1,122 per employee on training in 2025, and 13% of employees are still seen by their employer as not fully proficient.

Everything a good system tracks.
And what only Compono finds.

Compono Engage

An employee engagement platform that finds what to change

  • Like any engagement platformEngagement scores, response rates and trend lines
  • And what only Compono findsThe specific gap, and the team it sits in

Engage gives you the engagement score and the trend line every survey tool gives you. It also measures culture across 12 dimensions, current against desired, with climate and the work personalities already in the room. You walk into the leadership meeting with the specific gap and the team it sits in.

Compono Develop

A learning management system (LMS) that finds the capability gap

  • Like any LMSCompletions and compliance certificates
  • And what only Compono findsWhat each role and each person needs to perform

Develop keeps the completions and the compliance certificates your learning management system already keeps. It also works out what each role and each person needs to perform, so the report you take upstairs says what people can now do, with the evidence behind it.

Compono Assure

Competency management software that proves competence

  • Like any competency softwareCertificates, licences and renewal dates
  • And what only Compono findsCompetence proven on the day you are asked

Assure holds the certificates and the renewal dates a folder was holding, as live records rather than paper. It also holds the frameworks, the assessments and the credentials behind them, so competence is something you can prove on the day you are asked. It is what five state governments use at public-safety scale.

One platform, one engine.

Hire, Engage, Develop and Assure run on one validated behavioural science engine, so the read you get on a candidate in Hire is the same read you get on the team in Engage and the capability you prove in Develop. That is what makes a people decision defensible twelve months later. People decisions backed by behavioural science and AI.

Common questions

No. An HRIS holds the employment record and runs leave, pay data and org charts, and it should keep doing that. Compono runs hiring, engagement, learning and competency beside it, and finds what the record cannot show: who fits a role, how a team behaves, where capability is thin, whether a licence is current. Most HR leaders keep the HRIS and add Compono.

Every candidate is profiled against the role, the team and your culture, and ranked on that evidence with the reasoning attached. When the hire is questioned, in a debrief or a dispute, you can show what was assessed and who else was considered. That record sits with the hire, not in someone's inbox.

Usually yes. Engage runs the pulse and engagement surveys you already run, and adds culture measured across 12 dimensions, current against desired. The reason HR leaders switch is the diagnosis: you get the behaviour behind the score and the team it sits in, so there is something specific to fix.

The assessments and the reporting are built in, so most teams of two or three run it alongside everything else. Setup is scoped to your role library and your culture baseline, and our team does that part with you. Ongoing, it replaces work you are already doing by hand.

Compono supports single sign-on, implemented per customer against your identity provider, and integrations are scoped to each customer rather than sold from a catalogue. Compono does not run payroll or interpret awards, so payroll stays where it is. Tell us the stack you run and we will confirm what connects before you buy anything.

A short view they can act on: where culture sits against where you said you wanted it, which teams carry the risk, what capability you can prove, and the hiring evidence behind the senior appointments. It is the same data you work from, cut to the question a board actually asks.

From 100 to 500 people, one product runs circa $7k to $13k AUD a year depending on the band, and a second product comes down by about 30%. The bands are published, so every organisation in a band sees the same numbers. For the paper you have to write, our cost of a bad hire calculator puts your own figures on the other side of it.

Compono is built and hosted in Australia and New Zealand, and data is hosted there wherever your team sits. It works the same way if your people are in Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States or anywhere else you hire, because the assessments and the competency records are not country-specific. Job boards differ by market, so we confirm yours first.

Talk to us about the decision you have to defend.

Tell us the people question your executive keeps asking and what you have to answer it with today. We will show you the product that answers it, with your numbers, and say so if what you need is an HRIS.
