For construction and trades

Sites run on people.
The paperwork can wait.

Compono Hire is an applicant tracking system (ATS) for builders, contractors, engineering firms and trades businesses. It posts the roles and runs the pipeline any hiring system runs, and finds crews and supervisors who fit, with proof of the competence behind every licence. If award interpretation and payroll is the job, buy a payroll platform.

How it shows up for construction and trades

Crews churn in both directions

In the year to February 2026, 8.0% of construction workers left their job and 9.2% started a new one. That is a workforce being reshuffled constantly, and every arrival is a supervisor's week.

Induction and ramp-up paid for again, on every site, every quarter.

Safety culture gets set on site, whatever the policy says

Construction recorded 37 worker fatalities in 2024, at 2.8 deaths per 100,000 workers against 1.3 across all Australian industries. Who a supervisor is willing to stop, and who will speak up, is a culture question.

The kind of incident that no policy document prevents and no insurer forgets.

The licence classes, tracked on a whiteboard

Schedule 3 of the model work health and safety regulations sets out the classes of high-risk work licence, each with its own currency. Most builders hold that in a spreadsheet and a folder in the site shed.

Everything a good system tracks.
And what only Compono finds.

Compono Assure

Competency management software that proves the competence behind the licence

  • Like any competency softwareLicence numbers, ticket classes and expiry dates
  • And what only Compono findsWhether the person can still do the work

Assure keeps the ticket register: licence numbers, classes and expiry dates against the person. It also holds role competencies in the same framework, with verification of competency assessed against it. A ticket says somebody passed once. A competency record says they can still do it.

Compono Develop

The learning management system (LMS) that finds whether the induction landed

  • Like any LMSSite induction sign-ins, assignment and currency
  • And what only Compono findsWhether the training landed, before they reach the gate

Develop records the site induction sign-ins and the training currency your induction folder was holding. Site induction, plant refreshers, toolbox learning and role training are delivered the same way on every project and recorded against the person. Assessment inside the pathway tells you whether the training landed, with currency visible before they walk through the gate.

Common questions

Yes. Compono Hire is an applicant tracking system (ATS) used by builders, contractors, engineering firms and trades businesses. It runs the pipeline from advert to offer and profiles every applicant against the role and the crew, so a supervisor can see why someone is ranked where they are.

Yes. Each one is recorded against the person as a competency, with its currency date and a reminder before it lapses. Compono holds and reports the record. Issuing the licence stays with the regulator and the training organisation.

No. Compono does not interpret awards, run payroll, roster crews or process visas. It sits beside the platform that does, and owns the part that one cannot: who to hire, and what they can actually prove.

Yes. Hiring runs on mobile, so a supervisor can open a requisition and move someone to interview from the site. Head office sets the standard and sees every hire without approving each one.

You define the competency, the assessment, the evidence you will accept and the re-assessment interval. An assessor records the result against the person. The output is a register you can hand to a principal contractor or an auditor.

At 150 people you sit in the 100 to 500 band, where one product runs circa $7k to $13k AUD a year depending on where you land, and a second product comes down by about 30%. Every business in a band sees the same numbers.

Yes, for the competency and licence side. You can hold records for people who are not on your payroll, so a project register covers everyone on site. Hiring workflows are built for the people you employ directly.

Compono is built and hosted in Australia and New Zealand, and the platform is written to travel. Data is hosted in Australia and New Zealand wherever your team sits. The card and the licence change name by market, and the way Compono records them does not.

Talk to us about crews and competency.

Tell us how many sites you run and where the licence records live today. We will show you the part of the platform that fixes it, on a pipeline like yours, and say so plainly if payroll is the real problem.
