For not-for-profits

Mission-led.
Evidence-run.

Compono is a learning management system (LMS) and applicant tracking system for charities, community services and disability providers. You hire on values, keep people on modest pay, and evidence competence to funders and regulators. Compono finds who fits and proves what they can do. If volunteers are the job, buy a volunteer management system.

Screening and mandatory training eat the week before anyone starts

Worker screening clearance, orientation modules, a Working with Children Check and the internal induction all have to be in place and current. Chasing them is administrative work nobody funded, and it delays the start date.

NDIS worker screening clearances are required for risk-assessed roles and have to be verified and recorded, alongside the Commission's orientation and training modules.

Values fit is the hire you cannot afford to get wrong

In care work, a person who is technically capable and behaviourally wrong is a risk to a client as well as to a team. Interviews are good at detecting enthusiasm for the mission and poor at detecting how someone behaves on a hard day.

Across more than 20,000 new hires, 46% failed within 18 months, and 89% of those failures were about attitude rather than technical skill.

The funder asks for evidence of competence

Registration and audit ask whether your workforce has the skills and qualifications for the supports you deliver. A completion percentage from a learning system is not the same thing, and assembling the rest by hand takes weeks you do not have.

The NDIS Practice Standards require providers to show that workers have the skills, qualifications and experience the supports need, and to keep that current.

Everything a good system tracks.
And what only Compono finds.

Compono Hire

An applicant tracking system (ATS) that ranks people on values fit

  • Like any ATSApplications, cover letters and pipeline stages
  • And what only Compono findsHow the person behaves on a hard day

Hire collects the applications and runs the pipeline the way any applicant tracking system does. It also profiles every applicant against the role, the team they would join and your organisation's culture, then ranks them on that evidence. For a service where behaviour is the safety control, that is the part of the decision worth systemising.

Compono Engage

An employee engagement platform that shows why people stay on modest pay

  • Like any engagement platformEngagement scores and response rates
  • And what only Compono findsWhich part of the work is holding people

Engage runs the engagement survey and gives you the score, like any survey tool. It also measures culture across 12 validated dimensions, current against what your people say the work needs, and segments it by service, location and tenure. When you cannot compete on salary, knowing exactly which part of the work holds people is the lever you have.

The platform is really easy to use and was adaptable to our complicated model despite its simplicity.

Common questions

Yes. Compono Develop is a learning management system (LMS) with the induction, mandatory modules, assessment and recertification a registered provider needs, plus the record behind them. One Queensland charity runs online learning for thousands of learners on it.

Talk to us. We will not publish a discount we cannot honour for every organisation in the band, and we would rather scope what you actually need than sell you four products. Tell us your headcount and what your funder requires.

Yes. A screening clearance is recorded as a competency with its expiry date, alongside a Working with Children Check, a first-aid certificate or an internal sign-off. Anything with a date on it can be tracked and chased before it lapses.

That is the point of Hire. Every applicant is profiled against the role, the team and your organisation's culture, and ranked on that evidence rather than on a cover letter about the mission. The reasoning is visible, so a panel can defend the decision.

Yes, and the setup is smaller than you expect: one learning pathway, your own team as the culture benchmark, and the records you already have to keep. Most organisations that size start with Develop or Hire alone and add the second later.

It is built for staff first. You can give volunteers learning and record their clearances, and plenty of providers do. If rostering volunteers and tracking shifts is the real problem, a volunteer management system will serve you better.

Head office is Brisbane, with offices in Christchurch, London and New York. Data is hosted in Australia and New Zealand wherever your team sits, and the platform is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified. NDIS worker screening and a Working with Children Check are recorded the same way a DBS check is in the United Kingdom, so a provider operating in two countries runs one record.

Talk to us about pricing for charities and the evidence funders ask for.

Tell us who you are registered with, how many staff and learners you carry, and what your last audit asked for. We will walk it through on a service like yours, with your numbers, and be honest if we are not the right fit.
