Leadership team workshop

Is your leadership team high-performing?

How do you know?

This workshop will show you.

You have a strategy. Whether you deliver it comes down to the team in the room.

How a team naturally works decides whether its strategy gets delivered.

Good strategies stall every day, and rarely because the thinking was wrong. Each leader's characteristics combine into a team personality that quietly decides what gets delivered and what slips.

THE WORK HIGH PERFORMANCE REQUIRES

Eight core types of work. Every team favours some over others.

How effectively your leadership team drives strategy comes down to eight key types of work. A high-performing team covers all eight, and that takes intention. It does not happen by accident.

The reason most teams miss objectives is that they are not covering all eight, and there is a good reason for that. Because of personality, your team naturally prioritises some types of work and can miss others entirely.

This workshop examines the personality characteristics of your leadership team to understand how its natural strengths, preferences and blind spots influence strategy execution. Because personality is predictive of behaviour, it helps identify the work the team is most likely to excel at, overlook, avoid or overdo in pursuit of its goals.

Fifteen leaders plotted across the eight types of work. Eight sit in The Doer and six in The Auditor, one in The Evaluator. The Coordinator, Helper, Advisor, Pioneer and Campaigner have none. Segment shading shows how much of each type of work the team covers, from 87 per cent on The Doer down to 13 per cent on The Pioneer. 10860000PersonalitywheelThe Evaluator · 43%The Coordinator · 65%The Doer · 87%The Auditor · 82%The Helper · 57%The Advisor · 35%The Pioneer · 13%The Campaigner · 18%

EXAMPLE TEAM

A real pattern, plotted

This leadership team was head-down and hard-working, but not always on the right things. They clustered on delivery while whole types of work sat empty: connecting with stakeholders, looking to innovate. They looked busy and capable. Underneath, they were losing reputation and business.

What I loved most was that it didn't feel like a box-ticking exercise. It gave us shared language for how we communicate, make decisions, support each other and get the best out of each other as a leadership team.

Questions you'll leave the workshop able to answer

What are the main qualities and characteristics of this team?

What do we overdo, and what do we not do enough of?

And what is that doing to our culture, our strategy, and how we execute?

FROM QUESTIONS TO ANSWERS

See how your team really performs, and what to change.

Map the team against the work, and you can see which strategic initiatives are likely to land and which are likely to stall. Personality is the engaging way in. The real value is the conversation it opens up about your culture, priorities and gaps.

HOW THE WORKSHOP FLOWS

Knowing Me.
Knowing Us.

Part 1 · Knowing Me

Each leader, understood

Every leader discovers their own personality and work preferences: what they bring, what energises them, and how they show up under pressure.

Part 2 · Knowing Us

The team, brought together

The leadership team maps its own personality types and work styles, sees its collective pattern, and works out where to lean in, where to adjust, and how to deliver the strategy it's responsible for.

WHAT YOUR LEADERSHIP TEAM WALKS AWAY WITH

Four things your team can act on.

  • Why your strategic initiatives are more likely to fail or succeed, explained, not guessed
  • Where conflict tends to sit, and why, so it can be understood rather than avoided
  • Insight into your track record, why past objectives were met or missed
  • A stop, start and continue for every leader, committed to before the workshop ends

Built on Compono's own Work Personality™ model, a validated and widely trusted approach used across organisations to understand how people work. This is our own IP, not a generic off-the-shelf personality tool. Facilitated by a Compono organisational psychologist whose research covers organisational culture maturity and how it predicts performance, and leadership style and how it shapes engagement. The insight is specific enough that leaders trust it and act on it, and the workshop flexes from a short, focused block to a deeper offsite.

WHO IT IS FOR

Senior leadership teams who want to understand how they perform as a collective.

Standalone offsite or part of a wider leadership program. Particularly valuable for teams that:

  • Are effective already, and want to go from good to high-performing
  • Have had leadership changes and want to rebuild cohesion
  • Perform well individually but not yet at team level
  • Want an honest look at their gaps without it turning into blame
