Onboarding

Day one, done properly.

Onboarding inside Compono Develop carries the induction path, the first-week learning, the compliance modules and the in-person sign-offs, assigned by role, the way an onboarding system should. It also connects to the fit profile from the hire, so a manager knows the person walking in. If document collection is the whole job, an HRIS module will do.

How it shows up for onboarding

A new starter collecting a pass at reception on their first morning

Time to productivity is a guess

The manager thinks it is a month, the team knows it is three, and the business has no measure either way. So onboarding gets shortened whenever the roster is tight, which makes the number worse.

2.4 million Australians started a job in the year to February 2026, and every one of them had a first week that either worked or did not.

Onboarding has turned into paperwork

Forms, a statement, a policy pack and a folder of PDFs, then a buddy who is already flat out. The compliance obligations are met and the person still does not know how the work is done here.

Every new employee has to be given the Fair Work Information Statement before they start or as soon as practicable after, which is the floor rather than an onboarding program.

The manager never sees what the hiring process learned

Hiring produced a detailed read on how this person works and what the team was short of. The manager who now has to lead them was never shown any of it, so week one starts from zero.

Gallup estimates managers account for at least 70% of the variance in engagement scores between business units, and they are the person handed the least information on day one.

Everything a good system tracks.
And what only Compono finds.

Compono Hire

The profile that walks in with them from the applicant tracking system (ATS)

  • Like any ATSThe application, the offer and the start date
  • And what only Compono findsWork personality, motivations and fit, already on file

Hire hands across the hiring record any applicant tracking system holds: the application, the offer and the start date. Because the hire happened in Compono Hire, the work personality, motivations and fit read come with it. The manager gets the profile of the person joining their team, which is the difference between managing a stranger and managing a known quantity.

Compono Engage

The team read an employee engagement platform gives a new manager

  • Like any engagement platformSurvey campaigns, response rates and team rosters
  • And what only Compono findsWhich of the 8 types of work the team is short of

Engage runs the engagement survey any employee engagement platform runs, by team and by location. It also shows the work personalities already in the team and which of the 8 key types of work are thin. On day one that tells a manager where the new starter fits, what to hand them first, and which conflicts to head off early.

As a Learning Management System, what we really like about the learning platform is that it's easy to navigate and simple to use as both an administrator and learner.

Common questions

It is onboarding inside a learning management system (LMS), which is why it holds the first week and the next twelve months. Compono Develop runs the induction pathway, the mandatory modules, the refreshers and the ongoing learning on the same record.

No. Contracts, employee records and pay setup belong in the system you already run for them, and offer documents with optional e-signature sit in Compono Hire. Single sign-on connects to your identity provider, any other integration is scoped per customer, and /partners lists what we connect to today.

Yes, when the person was hired through Compono Hire. The work personality, motivations and fit read are already in the platform, so the manager sees who is joining and what the team was short of before the first day rather than after the first month.

Hire captures application documents and sends offers with optional e-signature. Your employee file stays where it is today. Develop holds learning materials, completions, assessment results and certificates. If one place for signed contracts is the requirement, that is the system holding your employee records.

A pathway with what to do next, in order, on any device. Online modules, documents to read, events to attend and in-person tasks their supervisor signs off, with their own work personality insights from the application still available to them.

Yes. Develop runs onboarding on its own, and plenty of customers start there. What you lose is the fit profile walking in with the person, which is the part that makes a manager's first week different.

Develop is priced by size band like the rest of the platform. For a team under 100, one product is circa $5.5k to $6.5k AUD a year. From 100 to 500 people it runs circa $7k to $13k AUD a year depending on the band.

Head office is Brisbane, with offices in Christchurch, London and New York. Data is hosted in Australia and New Zealand wherever your team sits, and the platform is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified, with single sign-on. A work health and safety induction is assigned the same way as statutory induction training in the United Kingdom, so a new starter in either place gets one pathway.

Talk to us about day one.

Tell us how many people start in a year, what they have to complete before their first shift and who manages them. Bring the learning management system you run today if you have one. We will show you what a pathway looks like for a role like yours, with your numbers, and say so if the module you already pay for covers it.
