An HR software checklist for a growing team needs to cover four areas: hiring, onboarding, engagement and development. The mistake most growing companies make is evaluating each area separately, which ends in four disconnected tools and no single view of their people. Work through the checklist below before you sit through a single demo.

Selecting people technology gets easier when you know what success looks like first. Are you struggling with slow time-to-hire? Turnover above your industry benchmark? Processes that are manual and error-prone? Sort your needs into must-haves and nice-to-haves before any vendor shows you a feature, or the shiniest demo wins by default.
Growth is the other framing question. A platform that suits 50 people can fall over at 500, so evaluate against the headcount you are heading toward, not the one you have. Buying software that solves yesterday's problems is the most common trap we see.
Copy this into your evaluation doc and score each platform against it.
Every vendor can show you features. The question for a growing team is whether the data connects. When your hiring data doesn't talk to your engagement metrics, you can't see whether the people you hire as "great fits" actually stay engaged, and your development spend is untargeted. Fragmented tools cost you the big picture exactly when growth makes the big picture matter most.
This is how the Compono platform is built: Compono Hire assesses candidates across organisation fit, skills and qualifications, Compono Engage carries that understanding into team insight and pulse feedback, and Compono Develop uses it to target learning where it changes capability. One data trail from application to development plan.
Best-of-breed point tools make sense when you have one deep, isolated need and the internal capacity to integrate everything yourself. Growing teams usually don't have that capacity, which is why an integrated platform tends to win: it prevents data silos, reduces subscription creep and gives HR one place to look. Whichever way you go, apply the same checklist and make the trade-off deliberately.
Compono connects hiring, engagement and development in a single platform, so your people data works together from the first application onward.
Talk to usConnected data. Payroll and compliance features are table stakes, but the platforms that change outcomes are the ones where hiring, engagement and development information flows together, so you can see your workforce as one picture rather than four spreadsheets.
Adoption follows user experience. Choose a platform that is intuitive without training, works on mobile and gives employees immediate personal value, such as insight into their own work personality. If the software only serves HR, employees will treat it as admin.
Usually an integrated platform. Standalone tools create data silos, so what you learn about someone at the hiring stage never informs how you engage and develop them. Integration also tends to cost less than a stack of separate subscriptions.
Modern cloud platforms can be live in weeks rather than months. The bigger variables are on your side: how organised your existing data is, and whether a named project owner is driving the rollout.

Compono Hire helps you predict job-fit and team-fit using behavioural science, so you can shortlist with confidence.
