About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Botanist to join our team.
What you will do:
- Conducting field surveys, which can mean being based in remote areas or the wilderness for weeks and months at a time
- Carrying out plant identification
- Collecting data, including rainfall, temperature, soil, sunlight, disease and topography
- Reporting and analysis
- Writing case studies, articles, reports and assessing building plans
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor of Science majoring in botany or plant science
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Field experience such as flora surveys, ecological monitoring, plant species and threatened ecological community identification, ecological data collection and analysis
- Vegetation identification and botany skills
- Some experience in GIS, field mapping and developing and managing spatial datasets
- Knowledge of biodiversity regulatory frameworks and policy
- Have a passion for ecology, conservation, biodiversity and natural resources management
